Toshiba laptop battery has packed in everything you need for watching HD content and then some. Whether you want to game or even get some complex Photoshop work done, the high horsepower combination of an Intel dual core processor, NVIDIA discrete graphics, and a healthy 3GB of RAM will handle just about anything you throw at it. You even get an ATI TV Wonder digital cable tuner, which combined with the HD-DVD drive and 1080p capable display will leave you in HD heaven. The laptop performed well while watching HD content and gaming, but the PA3191U-1BAS battery life wasn’t long enough to complete an HD-DVD movie.

At a price tickling the $1500 mark, the Tecra R10 is a bit more spendy than a close competitor like the Lenovo(PA3383U-1BRS battery) ThinkPad T400. It packs business class looks and comes loaded with almost everything you might need. While it may not be a lean and mean 12 or 13.3 inch form factor, the R10 is a very competitive with its 4.3 lb, 14.1 inch frame. Is it a bit more expensive than others hitting the mark? Yes - but I feel it’s a very good contendor to the Sony laptop battery and MacBook 13 inch battery out there to carry a good brand following from Toshiba.

The HP(Business Notebook 6710b battery ) HDX16 shines in this category, literally. The 16” LCD with a 1920×1080, 16:9 1080p resolution viewed on a glossy flush-glass display delivers stunning colors and brightness. The HDX is clearly designed for this, and while our model did not come with a TV tuner it can be easily customized to do so. Our model did come with a Blu-ray player, which looked beautiful on the LCD. The gloss does have the expected problems of glare, especially when outside, but the brightness is powerful enough to at least combat that to a degree, and indoors there is no problem. Angled viewing was also surprisingly good, with slight distortion only at extreme side and upper angles, although viewing from below is difficult.

Upgrading is always possible with Dell(Latitude D600 battery),which offers a wide assortment of Studio colors and designs. Beyond that, processors are available from the T4200 to the T9550, HDDs up to 500GB, WUXGA (1920×1200) resolution, and more. Unfortunately for potential gamers the 256MB GPU is as good as it gets, although that should be enough for the optional Blu-ray player to run smoothly. You can also get Vista Ultimate if you want, or at least some 64bit version of Vista, because it’s wasteful that our model came with Home Premium 32bit and 4GB RAM (32-bit operating systems can only utilize 3GB).
